Grammy Nails

Wow Grammys. Wow.
It’s no surprise that music’s biggest night was full of so many shiny nails. Maybe some were trying to manifest a gramophone of their own by wearing shiny nail art. Of course there were nude nails. There was also just as much nail art. That did my heart so much good. Let’s jump into these designs!

First up is Halsey. She’s constantly pushing the envelope and she did again with dark nails during spring. Halsey’s Double French nails matched her dark ensemble. The design features an oxblood moon with black French tip. I love this look because it looks great with almost any color combo. I tried it with fall colors and they were amazing. Definitely can’t wait to try the look in pastel shades. If you’re looking to match Halsey’s dark mani at home, try Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel in “Wine Stock” and “Onyx-pected”.

You wanna know what look was on so many people and it looked good on every single person? Chrome! Tom Bachik opted to use chrome as an accent while perfecting Rachel Zegler’s natural nails. He added abstract shapes at the tips to add a little edge to her monochromatic look. I have a feeling this look is gonna be trending soon.

Both J. Balvin and H.E.R.’s nails were full covered in mirror chrome. For Gold, Tiffany Haddish rocked a chromed French. While Dua Lipa & Donatella Versace both wore different shades of gold. Dua Lipa going with the traditional yellow gold and Donatella Versace using a greenish gold. Both women looked amazing in their custom fashions.

There were a good number of French manicures. There were the traditional white and square. Kelsea Ballerini switched it up by rocking a black French on almond shaped nails. Snoh Alegra wore a pastel green, medium length, tapered square set.

My absolute fav of the night came from Maria Becerra. Her multi colored snakeskin design made my jaw drop. Even tho they look super hard, These are actually pretty easy to achieve. See instructions below.

If you’re doing this look with regular polish, my suggestion would be to do 1-2 coats of your shimmery shade and allow to dry. If you’re looking for gorgeous shimmery regular polish. KBShimmer has some great options. The colors are unique and well pigmented. After the shimmery shade is dry, use a striper brush to add the black lines revealing the snakeskin pattern. However, if you’re doing this with gel, it can still be done that way OR you can add a layer of black polish and cure. Add a layer of blooming or blossom gel. Without curing, carefully add blobs of your shimmery or magnetic polish, wait for the polish to spread. Then cure once the desired effect has been achieved.

This year’s GRAMMY nail looks were beautiful. Many of them are simple enough to do at home. Even if you don’t have the vocal abilities of your favorite singer. At least you can have nails like them. See ya next year Grammys.
